The concept for this project looks at the narrative of song and possible ways to translate this into the photographic medium. A song is a composition of music, that usually contains vocal parts and musical instruments. In particular, I will look at the dynamic sounds of a drum n bass song where the composition of the song will influence the composition of the photograph.

Digital Schizophrenia - Final Images
Using Long exposures ranging from 30seconds to about 2minutes i was able to create multiple exposures of my own face. Using blue, red, yellow and green 5mm LED's to paint and expose partial areas of the face, but not fully exposing the full details of my identity. The effect was used to create overlapping images of my face that are blurred and the complete details of my identity are not fully portrayed, reflecting the way in which multiple identities in the digital realm create a blurred image of ones own identity.

Digital Schizophrenia
The internet allows us to create a new digital identity at the drop of a registration. Each internet site and communications service we connect to, register with or buy from asks us for pieces of identity, spawning a new, or at least part of a new digital self.
Most people that have indulged in any website that requires a piece of ones identity, have managed to keep these identities as separate areas. They have a real self in the real world, with parts of their identity stored in the digital realm, whether this is on Facebook, myspace, twitter, hotmail or youtube.
With momentum heading towards digital living, these separate areas have started to blend together creating overlapping identities, whether these identities are true or false, partial or complete. Rather than creating a more accurate representation of oneself, our digital identity has become blurred by these multiple identities that we create in the digital medium.
